NM Small Biz Weekly Referral Marketing Tip
Welcome to the first NM Small Biz Weekly Referral Marketing Tip!! Since today is the first post I thought we should start with something overlooked quite often when it comes gaining more referrals, Goals. Why Goals? We live in an instant world, when it comes to networking sometimes we expect instant results. Growing your referral network can take time and work. I have found goals make all the little things worth it when we focus on the bigger picture. Try answering these questions when thinking about your goals:
-How much do I want to increase my referrals and by what date? Is it 20% or 80%? Or is it a weekly/monthly goal? Ex. I want 5 referrals a week by November 2nd.
-How much time will I commit to referral marketing? Is it 2 or 4 hours a week?
-How many networking events am I willing to visit to grow my referrals monthly?
-What groups can I join to increase my referrals?
-Who would I like to meet? (Ideal client or even specific person)
Here is my goal:
I will receive 5 referrals a week by the End of 2011. I will commit three hours a week to networking functions and growing my referral network. I will visit at least 4 networking events monthly. I wil leverage my membership in the Albuquerque West Chamber to find groups I am interested in as well as meetup.com. I would like to meet small business owners, in their first 5 years of business, looking for simple solutions to grow their business and businesses to increase the NM Small Business network of Affiliate partners. I am also interested in meeting the best professionals in there business to refer to.
Once these questions have been answered visit them often, at least monthly, in fact why not add a calendar reminder in your phone or computer right now? This will keep tis simple and keep your goals in front of you. Let me know if you have questions about todays post!
